Top 5 Skincare Tips for that Perfect Diwali Glow

Skincare Tips for Diwali Glow
Posted date on Oct 15, 2022

The holiday season is special and even better if you achieve a flawless glow throughout it. While we flaunt our new outfits let’s work towards donning that perfect glowing skin. The best way to do so is by following a skincare routine which keeps your skin healthy, radiant and glowing throughout! So here are 5 easy tips to keep your skin glowing this Diwali:

1. Eat Healthy
Using beauty products surely works but when it comes to naturally healthy glowing skin, there is no substitute for a balanced diet.

Small changes to daily eating habits can improve your skin dramatically. Include fresh green leafy vegetables, fruit and nuts, and fish in your diet. The nutrients from these can help you keep multiple skin issues in check. Instead of snacking on chips or other processed foods, snack on pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts, or fruits like berries, apples and bananas.

A diet that includes proteins, vitamins, minerals and the right amount of carbohydrates can do wonders to your skin. Avoid packaged products and sweets.

2. Stay Hydrated
Don’t underestimate the power of water. From maintaining pH balance to the elasticity of your skin, it has many positive impacts on your overall health. It is also the easiest way to get beaming, glowing skin.

We are exposed to many toxins throughout the day. Be it external components such as benzene from petrol fumes, phthalates and sodium lauryl sulphate from cosmetics and toiletries, or pesticides, antibiotics and growth hormones in food. Even our body produces toxins from normal metabolic activity. These toxins tend to make your skin dry and dull. Drinking plenty of water is the perfect remedy to flush out these toxins so try to start and end your day with a glass of warm water to get rid of toxins.

Make it interesting by adding lemon, cucumber or mint to the water. You can even eat water by adding water-rich foods such as celery, watermelon, zucchini or berries to your meals.

3. Sleep Well
While you sleep, your body recovers and repairs itself. Skin produces collagen as part of the repair and recovery process. More collagen equals plumper skin and no wrinkles.

Sleep deprivation causes a decrease in blood flow to the skin and a drop in collagen production which leads to a visible increase in fine lines and dry and dull skin. Lack of sleep also causes dark circles and puffy eyes.

Sleep Well for better skin

Apart from healthy glowing skin, a good night’s sleep gives you healthier hair and a happier appearance. The key is to get 8 hours of quality sleep every night.

4. Exercise Regime
Breakouts and skin allergies are triggered due to elevated hormonal and immune responses to stress. When we exercise, blood circulation improves. Improved blood circulation removes toxins from your skin and delivers vital nutrients and oxygen to blood cells. Regular exercise keeps the immune system healthy to combat skin issues and minimise the risk of chronic skin conditions.

Follow a good workout regime and flaunt your glowing skin this festive season.

5. Follow a Skincare Routine
It is important to keep your skin free from grime for a healthy glow. Wash your face at least twice a day. Especially if you apply make-up regularly. Don’t skip your nighttime skincare routine.

Exfoliate at least twice a week and follow the three-step routine of cleansing, toning, and moisturising for glowing skin! Use mild, chemical-free cleansers. Follow it with a soothing toner such as rosewater. Irrespective of your skin type- moisturise your skin regularly for soft and supple skin.

Above all, always apply sunscreen. Sun exposure causes hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone and can lead to premature ageing.
